Day 1: Nairobi, Kenya
You will begin your journey in Nairobi, the capital city. After arriving at the airport, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel and later meet your local leader and small group for a welcome briefing.

Day 2: Lake Naivasha / Lake Nakuru, Kenya
After breakfast, depart Nairobi for Elsamere, driving along the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. Take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, the highest of all lakes in the Great Rift Valley and the home of many hippopotami. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing high tea lunch overlooking the lake. In the late afternoon, you will arrive at your Lake Nakuru lodge.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya
In the morning, you will be taken on a four-wheel-drive tour of Lake Nakuru National Park.

Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya
Make your way southwest to the Masai Mara, one of the finest game reserves in Africa. You will pass the Loita Hills, the home of the Maasai people, as you cross the Great Rift Valley. During your visit to the Maasai village, you will have the opportunity to meet your Maasai hosts and enjoy a fascinating discussion regarding this ancient culture.

Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya
During the morning and afternoon, you will be able to explore more of the park by 4×4 with further game drives.

Day 6: Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya
You may spend the morning as you wish. An early morning hot air balloon ride is an excellent way to view the Masai Mara from a different perspective. The suppliers of balloon rides are committed conservationists, with a portion of the profits from each flight going directly to worthy conservation projects within the park, and passengers may book ahead of time or on the ground (subject to availability).

Return to Nairobi after your visit to the Masai Mara. Arrival is expected in the late afternoon. The evening can be spent relaxing before departing for South Africa the next morning.

Day 8: Johannesburg, South Africa
After leaving Kenya, you will fly directly to Johannesburg in South Africa, where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. We will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. to welcome any new travelers joining you on this next leg of your journey. Once your meeting has concluded, you may join your leader and fellow travelers for dinner at a local family-owned grill house.

Please Note: There will be an unaccompanied flight today that lasts approximately four hours. Due to the fact that this is a combination trip, your group leader and the composition of your group will likely change at this location. The next stage of your itinerary will be discussed in a group meeting. You are encouraged to attend, as this is a great opportunity to meet your new travel companions as well. Please attend the welcome meeting so that your new group leader can collect insurance details and next of kin information. If you would like more information on where the meeting will be held, please ask reception or look for a sign in the lobby.

Day 9: Kruger National Park, South Africa
After an early morning drive, you will arrive just in time for lunch at one of the most intimate lodges in Greater Kruger National Park, your Feature Stay accommodation for the next three evenings.

Day 10: Kruger National Park, South Africa
Take an early morning drive into Kruger National Park. When you enter, you will be in the ideal position to catch a glimpse of one, or hopefully all, of the Big Five. Observe a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat while enjoying a packed breakfast at a picnic spot.

Day 11: Kruger National Park, South Africa
Enjoy another thrilling game drive in Kruger National Park. There is an opportunity to see any animals the group did not see the previous day. We will conclude our game drive in time for sunset and dinner on one of the lodge’s viewing decks. You can enjoy a wonderful meal and perhaps even hear the roar of a lion in the distance as you sit back and take in the sounds of the bush. The evening will conclude with a bonfire under a canopy of stars following dinner.

Day 12: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
You will depart South Africa early in the morning for Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, where you will depart for the Zambian airport of Livingstone, your gateway to the Victoria Falls. You will be able to get your first glimpse of the magnificent cascades once you cross the Victoria Falls bridge into Zimbabwe. As you proceed to your lodge accommodation, you will be able to enjoy splendid views of the wilderness and a waterhole that is frequented by elephants, buffalo, kudu, and many other species of wildlife. Take advantage of the lodge’s multiple viewing decks to observe wildlife in the afternoon or relax by the pool.

Day 13: Chobe National Park, Botswana
Today, you will visit one of the world’s true natural wonders, the Victoria Falls, which when in full flow forms the largest sheet of falling water in the world. You will be guided through the falls area once you have entered the park. Your guide will stop at different viewpoints along the way to provide an explanation of the history of the falls and their surroundings. Travel to Botswana’s Chobe National Park after an exciting morning at the falls in Zimbabwe. It is possible to walk through Kasane town in the afternoon (beware of roaming warthogs!), to sit by the Chobe River watching the sun set, or perhaps to take an optional afternoon Game Drive in the Chobe National Park.

Day 14: Chobe National Park, Botswana
During the first part of the day, you will be taken for a game drive through Chobe National Park, the first national park in Botswana.

After breakfast this morning, your adventure comes to an end.
